To
Name but a few,
Once upon A time.....
Fairies
are beautiful creatures as you can see. But don't get to close as
their faces can be hideously, twisted with deformity.
It
is believed by the people of the Clee Hill district not to place
a new born baby in its crib until it is christened, otherwise the
fairies may decide to inflict a hair lip or squint on the baby if
it is too beautiful...

A
father so enraged by his sons trouble making, murdered him. Then
dragged his body through a hedge into a sheltered coppice, on Wenlock
Edge. He then filled the entrance to his sons open grave with thorns
and brambles...
Next
day the entrance was clear and stayed clear until the father was
hung at Shrewsbury, repenting his sins as the noose went round his
neck...
The
fairies were said to have cleared the entrance every night...

Shropshire
has one of the highest concentrations of Mushroom rings in the country.
These rings are where the fairies dance in the dead of night...
Next
time your at the bottom of the garden beware the little people may
be watching you..
